We are seeking a Project Manager for our Information Technology Department!

 

This talented individual will provide leadership and staffing for analytical initiatives and technology projects, including major application and/or infrastructure systems implementations. This position requires a proven background in business analysis, requirements gathering, project planning, project execution management, and project resource management. This person will have a strong knowledge of software development and packaged software implementation lifecycles and have experience leading multiple software and/or hardware implementations. The position is responsible for gathering and clarifying business requirements, translating those requirements into plans of action, while insuring proper governance of the organization's technology assets and financial resources.

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

 

Work will include leading projects across the organization. This responsibility requires working with and managing a broad range of employees and contractors and acting as the primary project contact for key stakeholders in the organization. Other duties and responsibilities include:

 

  • Utilizing an agreed upon project methodology. Insuring quality control of that methodology and contributing to the further enhancement of the methodology.
  • Working with the client community to developed detailed business requirements.
  • Working with the project team and IT technical areas to develop technical requirements.
  • Building project plans, including budgets and human resource plans. Maintaining project plans and reporting on project progress to milestones.
  • Serve as a professional source of advice and assistance on managing projects; train or remind project leaders of the most important elements of project management, and assist them in addressing those elements.
  • Lead or assist in leading small-to-large-sized projects as needed.
  • Maintain project web presence, where applicable and project documentation (including Microsoft Project); coordinate time tracking for project members.
  • Design and produce reports, agendas, and minutes for project team meetings; set up and facilitate meetings where needed.
  • Maintain project archives. Set up and maintain documentation and deliverables, etc. in a central location.
  • Resolve problems and issues as they develop. Insure the proper communication of problem resolutions.
  • Work with and/or manage the consulting services of vendors. This may also
  • Include the development of a project statement of work and determining vendor resource requirements.  

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

 

  • Additionally, some of the work will include internal department support for Information Technology; mentoring new or junior employees, improving methodologies or processes and support and preparation for Governance activities.
  • Bachelor's degree or four years of professional working experience required
  • A minimum of three years of project management experience required
  • Formal project management training strongly preferred
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Project strongly preferred
  • Project supervisory experience and budget and human resources planning experience required
  • Web skills also strongly preferred
  • Technical writing and business writing skills required
